Le cancer du sein chez l’homme
Les hommes aussi sont à risque de développer un cancer du sein. Le cancer du sein chez l’homme est rare puisque moins d’un pour cent de tous les cancers du sein les touchent. Chaque année au Canada, environ 220 hommes reçoivent un tel diagnostic et environ 60 en meurent. Un test de dépistage génétique devrait être envisagé pour les hommes qui en sont atteints.
Le cancer du sein chez l’homme est traité de la même façon qu’un cancer du sein chez la femme ménopausée. Les traitements peuvent comprendre une chirurgie, une chimiothérapie, une hormonothérapie ou une radiothérapie.
