The Power of Community and the Strength of Support

Driven by a profound commitment to community service and making a meaningful impact, Chhavi is passionate about leveraging her skills and experience to support non-profit initiatives, especially those focused on breast cancer awareness and support. Her journey with hormone-positive stage II breast cancer in 2023 has profoundly shaped her heartfelt personal commitment to this cause.

As a breast cancer survivor, she understands the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. Her experience has instilled in her a deep sense of empathy and a passion for helping others who are navigating their own cancer journeys. She knows firsthand how crucial it is to have a strong support system, access to reliable information, and compassionate care.

Her personal dedication to this cause is inspired by her desire to contribute to the well-being of individuals and families affected by cancer, ensuring they receive the support and resources needed to navigate their journeys with dignity and hope.

Chhavi interacts with breast cancer patients on various social platforms like Facebook and Instagram to create more awareness regarding breast cancer. She also participates in various Zoom meetings to connect with the breast cancer community. Chhavi has been working for the Citizen Forum on Human Rights as a mentor for 14 years.

Connecting with nature, yoga and meditating are her passions.

“I believe strongly in the power of community and the strength we find in supporting one another. As a member of CBCN’s Board of Directors, I hope to contribute to our shared mission by fostering understanding and actionable support for patients and their families. Together, we can make a positive impact, provide hope, and enhance the quality of life for those battling cancer.”

“Throughout my recovery, I was fortunate to encounter incredible medical professionals, supportive family and friends, and invaluable resources. This inspired me to give back and ensure that others receive the same level of support and care that I did. I am dedicated to using my experience to advocate for patients, raise awareness, and contribute to initiatives that enhance the quality of life for those affected by cancer.”

In her role as a board member, Chhavi is committed to fostering a community of understanding and hope. She believes in the power of coming together to support each other, sharing our stories, and working towards a future where everyone affected by cancer feels empowered and cared for.
