Inaugural Global Lobular Breast Cancer Awareness Day

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and the 15th was selected to represent the 15% of breast cancer diagnoses each year of a type that often gets missed on mammograms. Lobular Breast Cancer, also known as Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, is the 2nd most common type of breast cancer, and doesn't always form a lump so it can be harder to detect, and commonly discovered at a much later stage. While ILC affects 1 in 7 women with breast cancer, it is understudied and lacks targeted treatments. We will be hearing from Dr. Christine Brezden-Masley, Mount Sinai Hospital and Dr. David Lim, Women's College Hospital.
