Perspectives of Rural Women with Breast Cancer - 2001

Perspectives of Rural Women with Breast Cancer
Canadian Breast Cancer Network Focus Group Project 2001
Report Submitted by the Ontario Breast Cancer Community Research Initiative

In the spring of 2001, CBCN and the Ontario Breast Cancer Community Research Initiative held 17 consultations with women living with breast cancer in remote and rural areas across Canada. The goal of the consultations was to develop a national strategy to reach rural women with breast cancer and to extend information, programs and services to them. Results of the consultations have been summarized in the report, Perspectives of Rural Women with Breast Cancer, which is now available to the public.

CBCN would like to thank the Ontario Breast Cancer Community Research Initiative, which has been an important partner in the CBCN projects, providing leadership in gathering and analyzing women's breast cancer stories, in documenting findings in reports, and in sharing knowledge with survivor and professional audiences.
